Saturday morning's match found the Strikers outscoring the Deep Purple Raccoons 17-5. This win earned the Strikers their first three points of the tournament and a big confidence booster going into the afternoon match with Cobras Soccer Academy. This match proved to be more of a challenge for the Strikers as the presence of Cobras Soccer Academy Director, Superman Sosa, was on the sideline. The result was 10-5 in favor of the Strikers. The second day at Striker Cup the Strikers came up against Escuela Chivas. The Chivas were a good passing team that exchanged goal for goal with the Strikers up to halftime. The second half was dominated by the Strikers ending championship hopes for the Chivas. The final was Strikers 9 Chivas 4. The final match of the day was just that. As the undefeated Strikers met the undefeated Rio Vista Scorchers. Both teams coming into the match with nine points and the eventual victor would be the 2009 Striker Cup Champion. The Scorchers came out with much confidence and intensity taking an early lead of 2-nil. But the U7 Strikers kept their composer and scored the next two goals resulting from good defense off of Scorchers goal kicks. 4 to 3 was the halftime score with the Scorchers holding on to the lead. The second half proved to be just as exciting as the first. The Strikers came out with an excellent balance of offense and defense outscoring the Scorchers 4 to 1. In the end, the Strikers came out on top with the final score 7-5.
